After extensive use of this asset, I can honestly say that this is one of the best assets on the Unity store for quickly and easily creating custom 2d Levels for you game. 2d colliders are generated automatically (edge colliders can be generated as well to work better with 2.5d levels that use mechanim avatars/characters).

You basically drop a tileable texture in Unity and stretch and reshape it around using intuitive draggable handles until it suits your needs. Shapes can easily be re-tweeked at any time during and after creation.

With not much effort, new textures can be designed with Photoshop (there are only a couple art packs on the Unity store for Ferr2D). Once created it is relatively easy to export your updated package including your newly designed ones for import into a new project.

This package comes with its own shaders that work well on mobile devices as well. The included animated wavy shaders work great for simulating cartoon looking water and fire. The lit shaders are great for adding an eerie ambiance to your creation.

One caveat to watch out for is when using the same material for different scenes, it will always share the same shader. If you change the shader within one scene, it will effect all other scenes that use that material and change that shader as well. Work around this by using duplicate copies of the same material with new names.

After designing a quarter of my 2D Android game using tilemaps, I stumbled upon this asset and completed the remainder of the project in record time. Dont hesitate to try this and dont waste your time with tilemaps until you atleast give this a go. It can honestly make level creation fun.

This asset is one of the best 2D assets you will ever find.

The seamless integration with Unity, the ability to change the handle sizes, the fact that it just looks so freakin superb.

I'm not sure I have any bad things to say about this asset. The only complicated thing can be preparing the artwork to seamlessly fit together, but the forum thread about this product has TONS of information from everyone setting up their own terrains. Even some people give away textures to use with this asset for free!

If you want to make something like Rayman terrain, or the terrain in one of those mobile monster truck/car racing/stunting games, this is exactly what you need. Within 10 minutes you can have a track all drawn up, and assuming you have some nice art to import into the system, it automatically makes it beautiful.

Add some props here and there, and some kind of main character or vehicle, and you're done!

Personally I intend to take this asset and make something similar to Earn 2 Die. If you're familiar with the game, you know exactly how this asset will help you.
